What is the real difference between these mats?

As you navigate our website you likely noticed some similarities in some of our products.  We are commonly asked, "What is the difference between your Gymnastics and Folding Exercise mats?

To help ensure you select the correct mat, we will cover the main differences and highlight the features of each mat.  


Exercise Mats

Our Folding Exercise Mats are designed to be both firm yet comfortable.  You can use them for a variety of personal exercises such as sit-ups, burpees, push-ups, and HITT workouts.

Common Questions

How do I know what size mat to buy?

Consider these 3 things prior to purchasing:

  • Your height to ensure the mat is long enough
  • Your weight to ensure the mat is wide enough. 
  • Storage location of the mat. 

Are the Folding Exercise mats the same as a Yoga mat?

The main difference between Exercise mats and Yoga mats is the foam core.  Yoga mats are made from a softer, thinner foam.   Our folding exercise mats made from a firmer, denser 2" foam. 

If the mat is not a fit for me can I return it? 

We can accept brand new mats back in the original gray wrapping. You would be responsible for finding a return shipper , return shipping cost, and a 15% restocking fee.  Once we receive the mat back, we will process a refund back to your method of payment.

Common Questions

Will purchasing a 1.5" vs. 2" really make a difference?

This can depend on your use of the mat.  Different activities can mean different types of impact.  Also consider the age of the gymnast.  Younger gymnast can use thinner mats because they will not need as much shock absorption.  More advanced older students may prefer thicker mat that is more shock absorbent. 

How do I know which size mat to purchase?

Consider these 3 things prior to purchasing:

  • Your height to ensure the mat is long enough.
  • Your weight to ensure the mat is wide enough.
  • Where the mat will be stored, when not in use.

How can I minimize scuff marks on my mats?

  • We recommend cleaning the mats frequently. Avoid cleaning solutions that contain Chlorine, as this will break down the vinyl over time.
  • Avoid dragging the mat across the floor to move it.  Most scuff marks are the result of dragging the mat across the floor. We recommend picking it up and moving it.  The mats fold easily and can be moved by 1-2 individuals.
  • Lastly, ensure the mats are being used indoors.  The mats are not weather proof, and over time intense heat or cold can cause issues.  Especially, damage from ultraviolet rays.
